De Witte Leeuw and Bourgonjon — a collaboration that has endured for generations. The finest quality fresh meat, delivered daily. From our famous beef stew to the noblest côte à l’os — Bourgonjon supplies the meat that brings our guests back time and again.

Bourgonjon is a Ghent family business dating back to 1926, when Charles-Louis Buyle and Martha Sarens opened a butcher shop. Four generations later, Bourgonjon has grown into a respected meat company serving the hospitality industry exclusively. The acquisition of St. Pierre's B2B division in 2023 was a historic step that enriched the range. We are proud of this long-standing partnership — Bourgonjon understands exactly what our kitchen needs.

Since 1926

The quality of Bourgonjon is unmatched. All beef comes exclusively from cattle bearing the Vitaproject quality label. Every order is processed overnight and delivered chilled in the morning — fresh meat, custom-cut and kitchen-ready. The result? Meat so fresh and tender that our guests taste the difference immediately. From the first bite of steak to the last spoonful of stew — the quality speaks for itself.

Bourgonjon begins

Charles-Louis Buyle and Martha Sarens open a butcher shop in Gentbrugge. The foundation of four generations of meat craftsmanship is laid.

1954

The Bourgonjon name

Gabriël Bourgonjon takes over the company. Focus shifts to wholesale and the quality standard is set that holds to this day.

2000

Hospitality specialist

Johnny Bourgonjon dedicates himself fully to fresh meat deliveries to the hospitality sector. The partnership with De Witte Leeuw begins.

2018

Digital innovation

Launch of the ordering app. Our kitchen can now place orders until midnight, with delivery the same morning.

2023

St. Pierre × Bourgonjon

Acquisition of St. Pierre's B2B division. The range is enriched with premium beef and exclusive cuts.
